Dale Church of Christ
Children´s Church

Exciting News!

We have begun a Children´s Church program held during our regular Sunday morning worship service. The children attend regular Sunday morning worship service and stay until after Communion, then during the song immediately following Communion, they leave for Children´s Church.

Our goal in Children´s Church is to provide a more enriching worship time for younger children. The sermons and lessons taught during Sunday morning service in the auditorium are designed for adults, not children. In Children´s Church the children enjoy an exciting worship time designed just for them and taught on a level where they can understand more of God´s Word. We want to create a more age-appropriate place for them to learn that is not just like class time.

You are not required to send your child to Children´s Church if you don´t want to. If you´re unsure about it, we encourage you to come back with your child and see how it goes.

The Noah´s Park Children´s Church Kit is the material we plan to use to teach Children´s Church this year. It came highly recommended and is used by other local Churches of Christ. Each lesson emphasizes a particular Bible truth with life building applications. Singing, games, role-play, activities and puppets are used to enhance the learning process.

Children´s Church is divided into two classes: The Nursery class material teaches ages six months thru three years old (under six months is welcome with an adult). The Children´s Church class material teaches ages four years old thru 3rd Grade. We hope to eventually give the 4th and 5th Graders opportunities to help teach the little ones.

Initially, we´d like there to be five adults available to help teach; two in the nursery, two in Children´s Church, and one to help. If you´re not sure you want to teach, we encourage you to consider being a helper so that you can still be a part of the program. There´s a weekly sign-up sheet available in the foyer. Feel free to sign up as often as you´d like or for more than one week in a row, but we recommend you sign up two weeks in advance. You´ll want time to review the lesson and get prepared! As mentioned above there are recommended crafts, snacks, games, and puppets skits to go along with each lesson; you will not have time to do them all! We have the material completely organized and easy to go through.
