SPIRITUAL CALISTHENICS

HOW TO CAUSE EACH MOMENT OF THE DAY TO BE GOOD.

THE BIBLE IS GOD'S WORD
IT FITS US FOR LIFE AND PREPARES US FOR DEATH
READ IT EVERY DAY.
APPLY IT,
BASE YOUR DECISIONS ON IT.
READ THESE VERSES EVERY DAY FOR A MONTH.

WONDERFUL THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO Isaiah 40:28-31

CHRISTIANITY IS A POSITIVE RELIGION FULL OF HOPE AND JOY.
GOD IS ABLE TO DO FAR MORE FOR US THAN WE CAN IMAGINE. Eph. 3:16-21

CHRIST TELLS ME TO ENRICH OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES,
TO DO THINGS WHICH I WOULD LIKE DONE FOR ME. Matt. 7:12

REMEMBER, PEOPLE SEE THE EXAMPLE WE SET. 1 Thess. 4:11-12

CHRIST EXPECTS US TO DO,
SOMETIMES WE FAIL,
BUT WE MUST TRY.
ONLY THOSE WHO TRY SUCCEED.

BETTER IS HE WHO ATTEMPTS A GREAT WORK AND FAILS,
THAN HE WHO ATTEMPTS TO DO NOTHING
AND SUCCEEDS.

OUR SPEECH SHOULD ENCOURAGE PEACE
IT SHOULD BUILD UP THE HEARERS

THE CLOSER YOU ARE AND THE BETTER YOU KNOW SOMEONE
THE MORE DAMAGE YOU CAN DO TO THEM
OR
THE MORE HELP YOU CAN GIVE THEM.

WATCH YOUR TONGUE
AVOID NEEDLING AND NAGGING.
SAY CONSTRUCTIVE HELPFUL THINGS.
TRY, MAKE THE EFFORT TO KEEP PEACE
ESPECIALLY WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
AND WITH ALL MEN.
Romans 14:19

WE NEED TO PAY OTHERS THE COURTESY
OF PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY SAY,
EVERYONE, CHILDREN, OLD, YOUNG, ALL.
IN A DISCUSSION ARE YOU REALLY LISTENING,
OR
ARE YOU TOO BUSY THINKING ABOUT WHAT HAS BEEN SAID?
OR
ARE YOU TOO BUSY FIGURING OUT YOUR RESPONSE?
James 1:19-22

REMEMBER,
LOVE BELIEVES ALL THINGS, ENDURES ALL THINGS,
IF WE LOVE PEOPLE AS WE OUGHT, WE WILL LISTEN TO THEM,
WE WILL BE SLOW TO GET ANGRY WITH THEM.
AND WHEN WE DO GET ANGRY
WE'LL HOLD OUR TONGUE
BEFORE WE TEAR DOWN
THAT WHICH GOD WANTS BUILT UP.

CHILDREN USE ANGER AS A TOOL TO GET THEIR WAY.
HOW DO I USE ANGER?
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE ME ANGRY?
Galatians 5:22-23

LOVE, JOY, AND PEACE RELATE TO OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
DO YOU ENJOY BEING GOOD
OR
ARE YOU SOUR AND BITTER.
MAKE YOUR GOODNESS GRACIOUS
BE KIND AND MERCIFUL.
PATIENCE, KINDNESS, MERCY, GOODNESS AND GENTLENESS
THAT'S HOW WE SHOULD DEAL WITH OTHER PEOPLE
AND WE HOPE
THAT'S HOW GOD WILL DEAL WITH US.

DOES YOUR SPEECH INSPIRE AND ENCOURAGE THE HEARERS
OR DOES IT DISCOURAGE AND DEPRESS THEM?

WHAT ABOUT MY PRAYERS?
IN TOM SAWYER WE READ ABOUT PRAYERS TOM HEARD THEM PRAY.
THEY PRAYED THE SAME PREDICTABLE PRAYERS
OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

DO I PRAY SINCERELY
OR
DO I JUST REPEAT A FORM I HAVE MEMORIZED?

Isaiah 40:28-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
