TRIALS

LOOKING TO JESUS FOR ANSWERS AND STRENGTH
WHEN THE TRIALS OF LIFE SEEM TOO GREAT FOR US.

SIN LED TO OUR SEPARATION FROM GOD.
GOD'S LOVE FOR US LED TO JESUS' SACRIFICE ON THE CROSS,
TO SATISFY GOD'S JUSTICE AND TO EXTEND MERCY TO US.

THE GREATEST HUMAN NEED IS FOR FORGIVENESS
GOD'S JUDGEMENT IS COMING. Acts 17:29-31
IT WILL BE BASED ON WHAT WE'VE DONE.
Romans 2:5-7

WE ARE SINNERS. Romans 3:23
GOD SENT JESUS TO REDEEM US. Gal. 4:4-7
WITHOUT JESUS HELP WE WILL FAIL THE TEST. John 15:5
JESUS IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO OUR "SIN" PROBLEM. Acts 4:10-12
HIS CRUCIFIXION WAS THE ONLY WAY FOR US TO BE SAVED. Matt. 26:39

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER. John 14:6
HE CAME TO GIVE US ABUNDANT LIFE, John 10:10
AND TO GIVE US ETERNAL LIFE. John 3:14-15

WE NEED TO HAVE JESUS' ATTITUDE WHEN DEALING WITH OTHERS. Phil. 2:3-8

LOOK TO JESUS FOR ANSWERS TO LIFES PROBLEMS
LOOK TO JESUS FOR STRENGTH TO DO WHAT WE SHOULD.
WHEN I FACE PAIN, STRESS, LOSS, LONLINESS OR FEAR,
JESUS, DO YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND HOW I FEEL? Luke 4:1-2
YOU FACED HUNGER, THIRST, COLD, LONELINESS, TEMPTATION
YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE GOING TO HAVE TO ENDURE
YOU ENDURED IT ALL, SO THAT YOU COULD HELP ME
YOU'VE "BEEN THERE, DONE THAT" Heb. 4:14-16

SATAN TEMPTED CHRIST TO MISUSE HIS BLESSINGS
HUNGER - TURN STONES TO BREAD.
PRIDE - SHOW OFF - JUMP OFF OF TEMPLE.
BEING SENSATIONAL DOESN'T SOLVE MY PROBLEMS.
MATERIAL - WORSHIP SATAN AND HE WILL GIVE YOU THE WORLD.
RULING THE WORLD WON'T SOLVE MY PROBLEMS EITHER.
BESIDES, HE COULDN'T REALLY DO THIS, HE IS A LIAR,
SATAN DOESN'T HAVE ALL POWER, GOD DOES.

HOW DID JESUS RESIST TEMPTATION?
EACH TIME HE SAID "IT IS WRITTEN"

SATAN DOESN'T HAVE A HIGH OPINION OF US.
JESUS DOES HAVE A HIGH OPINION OF US. HE LOVES US.
HE WAS WILLING TO ENDURE THE CROSS TO GIVE US ETERNAL LIFE.

JESUS SAYS,
WHEN THE TRIALS OF LIFE SEEM TOO GREAT FOR US: TURN TO GOD.
THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL ENABLE YOU TO OVERCOME, IF YOU LET HIM.
FAITHFULLY FOLLOWING JESUS WILL LEAD TO ETERNAL LIFE.

Acts 17:29-31 "Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone--an image made by man's design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. Phil. 2:3-8 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death--even death on a cross! Back to Lesson

Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
