HOPE FOR THE FUTURE |
WE CAN HAVE HOPE FOR THE FUTURE
Hope = Desire plus Expectation.
I hope to go to heaven. I desire to go to heaven. I expect to go to heaven.
I expect to go to heaven for several reasons:
1) God loves me. He paid the price for all of our sins,
by His son dying on the cross. John 3:16
2) He raised Him from the dead defeating Satan, Hell and Death.
3) I'm trying to help by doing my part
and using the talents I have. Matt.25:14-30
Evil exists! -- But we have a Savior.
We can have a part in helping God to help others.
Bear one another's burden and so fulfill the law of Christ.Gal. 6:2
Have I made someone's life better, today, this week?
The New Testament is true.
It is much better documented than the writings of Julius Caesar
and the writings of the other ancient's writings.
It has been confirmed by many witnesses, some of whom died for their beliefs!
With so much evil now, can the future be any better?
There will be WAR. Rev. 17:l4, But take heart - Christ will win.
We know Him who was, is, and will be! Rev. 1:1-8 (especially verse 8)
Let's look at what was, what is, and what will be from the book of Revelation, Rev. 1:19.
Revelation 2 through 4
God has not called us to be successful. He has called us to be faithful.
His Kingdom stands although individuals and congregations may have problems.
Ephesus - have done good but lost their first love -- REPENT!
Pergamum and Thyatira -- REPENT!
Sardis - dead inside -- REPENT!
Laodacea -lukewarm -- REPENT!.
Smyrna and Philadelphia, OK, problems, but can win if keep going.
Be faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life. Rev. 2:10
Hold on!
Revelation 4 through 7 - What we will face.
We will face the red, black and pale green horses of death, disease and famine.
Take heart. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. Rom. 8:35-39
Revelation 8 through 11 - What the world will face.
Those who don't follow God will face death, disease and famine
For them there is --NO HOPE!
We have Hope in Christ. Peter said "to whom shall we go?" John 6:68
Christians have the strength to overcome through Christ,
His resurrection and the Holy Spirit which He gives us.
During this time Christians have a responsibility to outsiders,
we must "eat the book" Rev.10:9-10.
and teach even the skeptical and rude.
Revelation 12 through 22 is an overview of all history.
Satan wins at first (in the garden of Eden) Gen. 3:15
But Christ is promised.
Satan tries to keep the promise from happening.
But Jesus came, lived, died for our sins and was resurrected
Satan knows his time is short. Rev. 12:12.
You can be stronger than he is if you want to.
He uses False Religions, in which the Devil delights.
We must know what we believe and why we believe it. 1 Peter 3:15
Satan's tools include:
Political, Intellect, Pride
But in the end Satan loses.
GOD WINS!
God's Word stands!
Behold I stand at the door and knock. Rev. 3:19
